Yesterday we took a wonderful group of students on a ‘Fun Field Trip’ to Coventry. We travelled to Coventry on the ‘Avanti’ train service while their PR team filmed and interviewed our students about how exciting their experience was. Once we arrived we had a walking tour from the station to the Herbert Art gallery where we were able to view the exhibition from the artist - Daniel Lismore.

We then had a nice lunch and completed an art task in their learning classroom where the students produced some great work! We also had the opportunity to visit St. Michaels Cathedral on the way back, the students were in awe.

The organisers of the trip from ‘Avanti’ and the Herbert gallery were extremely complimentary of our students – “It was such a brilliant day; as I said to you, the kids were impeccably behaved and were a real credit to you and to the school. They seemed genuinely engaged in the activity and keen to learn.

The company are keen to get more of our students ‘on board’ for future trips! It’s so important that we provide these opportunities for students to improve their cultural capital and enjoying school generally, more than ever ‘post COVID’.
